ACM is the world's oldest and largest educational and scientific computing society. Since 1947, ACM has provided a vital forum for the exchange of information, ideas, and discoveries. Today, ACM serves a membership of more than 80,000 computing professionals in more than 100 countries in all areas of industry, academia, and government.

ACM Hong Kong Chapter (ACM-HK) is founded on February 22, 1988 by Prof. Francis Y.L. Chin from Hong Kong University. This year is the 20th anniversary of ACM-HK. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people who have dedicated to ACM-HK in the past 20 years. To all ACM professional members who plan to vote on 2011 Election Committee Subsector Eelections, please verify that your membership is still valid before you vote. According to section 30(1)(a) of the Schedule to the Chief Executive Election Ordinance (Cap. 569) and section 16(1)(a) of the Elections (Corrupt and Illegal Conduct) Ordinance (Cap. 554), a person who votes at the election knowing that he is not entitled to vote is liable on conviction to a fine of up to $500,000 and to imprisonment for a maximum of 7 years. If you have any doubt on your membership, please contact our Membership Chair, Dr. Joe Yuen (csjyuen@cityu.edu.hk) for further detail.
